HOW TO VOTE TODAY
It's that time of the year again.the radio and tvs abuzz and the roadsides littered with billboards polluting us all. Yep it's election time and politicians dribble telling us what they are going to do .
National has kept economy ticking since 2008 getting Govt in surplus keeping most people in jobs – delivering for NZ (aka the NZ Govt) but failing the people with poverty, housing crisis, high youth suicide rate, high prison population, poor job quality. Still wants to push TPPA, a trade deal that will ELIMINATE Govt decision making and sovereignty. There is obviously a mood for change .

It's a failure to think of the social crisis in NZ as Nationals fault alone. These are 30 years in the making including under 2 terms of Labour govt. Politicians lie and tell us what we want to hear so we vote them in into power then they go to parliament and act like children arguing and slandering each other. Avoiding answering questions, doing dodgy things while leaving the not so well off and environment to suffer. While looking after the interests of the money and the rich. That's why they rate at bottom of professions with car dealers and lawyers in readers digest trusted professions.

No wonder many don't vote. I think I will be one this year. If I can be bothered to get out of bed to vote I will spoil my vote by writing a new party called "vote of no confidence protest party" on the ballot and ticking that. Fueled by my recent court battles which I showed the govt don't have the right to tell me what to do but they will do anyway .Voting gives govt that consent to run your life (not the other way round as it should be). And I have always voted protest or the most left but there is no longer any left wing party in NZ in this election.

For those who will vote thou, because you are convinced not voting gives the vote to National or if you don't vote you cant complain, or other reason - who should you vote for ?
All the parties outside of National/Act have some good policy but aren't left wing parties anymore as they are very centered. And none are talking about socialism but just managing capitalism better so suffering is less. They all have some good policy.

Labours increase in polls has gone up but not for any good reason. They've chosen a new young female leader and that's why their getting increased votes. Because IF they have changed vision or goals or policy they have no values or substance to them. Reducing poverty is a platitude, every party is promising that including National. Voting Labour to get National out will give Labour the impression they have your support and will stop there with no more good left policies. But Labour needs to be dragged more left. Workers optimism that change can happen will probably lift all workers moral including those on the far left . But workers will fight less for better work conditions thinking Labour will do it for them. Workers will be let down and disillusioned when Labour fails them as history has shown.

If labour fails to form a govt as major party, labour will need to look for a new leader and new policies and that may well give the left elements of labour a chance to drag labour left. I think that long term goal is more preferable to getting National out.
So party vote for a party that Labour will need to go into coalition with to form a Govt .Thus Govt is changed and Labour isnt given a mandate to do nothing and be mediocre like it normally does.

NZ First and Maori party cant be trusted as just as likely to go into party with National and form a Govt.

That leaves the Green Party and The Opportunities Party (TOP) . I think TOP is to small and vote may be wasted.

So my suggestion is PARTY VOTE GREENS THIS ELECTION if you want change the party in Govt but dont want Labour to think they doing ok or doing enough
